New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is slashing city services while asking you to pay more for your healthcare.  He is cutting staff through attrition and threatening layoffs.  He wants city employees to "do more with less."  If you want a meager 1.25% raise, the mayor says you must give something back.

Governor Paterson is slashing much needed aid to the city, including medicaid.  If he succeeds, the city will lose money needed for services and jobs.  Hospitals could lose services or possibly close altogether.

Both are balancing the budget on YOUR backs, instead of asking big Wall Street financial institutions, big corporations and billionaires to sacrifice.  These are the people and entities who have had their taxes cut and are responsible for the current financial mess.  Yet, they are not being asked to pitch in and help balance the budget.

You need to make the phone calls to our political leaders in City Hall and Albany.  TELL THEM THAT ENOUGH IS ENOUGH - DON'T CUT THE BUDGET, SERVICES OR JOBS!!  It's time to tax Wall Street, the big banks and billionaires in order to raise revenues.
