On February 15, DC 37 held an activist training for Local 1549. Members are getting ready for the February 16 day of action!

Brothers and sisters from HRA/DSS:

The McGillivary Steele Elkin LLP Law Firm informed us that the overtime lawsuit, on behalf of HRA Local 1549 members, under the Federal Labor Standards Act ( FLSA ) was filed on February 3. The legal team from the law firm has been in communication with us and they will be sending out representation letters and a link to their secure client website to those who have signed up for the case.

DC 37, in collaboration with AFSCME, is excited to announce the Spring 2023 Lillian Roberts Women’s Leadership Academy (LRWLA). The LRWLA course is a 10-week, 40+ hour leadership training program designed to support and develop women who desire to assume leadership positions within their profession, union, and community. The goal is to help women understand the relationship between gender and the power dynamics of serving in leadership positions and to impart the most effective ways to lead. Classes will be held on Saturdays from 9 AM to 1 PM beginning in March.

Local 1549 members,

As citywide contract bargaining talks continue, we can all use our voices to tell our officials that we need a fair contract — and we need it now. Let’s join our brothers and sisters from around the city during DC 37’s day of action.

Participate in the Thursday, Feb. 16 Day of Action:

Feb. 3, 2023

DC 37 Family,

We’re pushing to secure better benefits and higher wages for you– our members who run New York City. We won’t stop fighting until we get the contract you deserve.

We made significant progress pushing the union’s priorities forward during the last bargaining session with the city on Jan. 24. Negotiations are headed in the right direction thanks to DC 37’s Bargaining Committee, but we need your help to put more pressure on the Adams Administration.
