Local 1549 members –

On Thursday, February 16th, AFSCME’s District Council 37 (DC 37) bargaining committee, which includes Local 1549, and the city’s Office of Labor Relations signed a tentative agreement that improves the contracts of many city workers. Upon ratification, the tentative agreement would deliver a $3,000 bonus, a 16.21% compounded wage increase over the five-plus-year agreement, a Child Care Trust Fund, and a minimum of $18 wages for all members under that amount. Additionally, the contract would establish a pilot program for flexible work options that meet the demands of today’s workplace, including remote work, compressed and flexible schedules, and improved transit benefits.

To ratify this agreement, DC 37 delegates will review it for approval on February 28th. Following their approval, members in good standing will receive a ballot in the mail with information on the demands and instructions to vote on the agreement. The Local 1549 Adminsistratorship team will be setting up borough meetings shortly to review the terms of this agreement as well.

The 1549 administratorship team supports the terms of the agreement and strongly recommends the ratification of this contract.
